Adult Sailing Classes
The Dallas Corinthian Yacht Club (DCYC) and the Dallas Corinthian Educational Fund (DCEF) offer an Adult Basic Sailing Course, for DCYC members and non-members conducted over two consecutive weekends depicted in the dates below. The course is comprehensive with almost all instruction on the water. Learn to sail if you have no experience and learn to race if you have knowledge of sailing but no experience in racing.
Our basic sailing course for adults is held over two consecutive weekends on Saturday and Sunday starting the first Saturday of the month.
Classes Start at 9:00 am and end at about 1:00 pm on Saturday then start at 1:30pm to 5:30 pm on Sunday. Minimum class size is three and maximum is six.
This will be an ASA style, 15-hour, Keelboat 101 class. With classroom instruction and on the water skills. There will be a final exam. Upon successful completion you will receive a certificate from DCYC and be comfortable handling a boat up to 27' length in light to moderate wind conditions.
If desired, your new knowledge will allow you to take the ASA exam at an authorized ASA sailing center and get the Keelboat 101 certificate. Although we
are a BoatUS facility, at the present time we do not have a BoatUS certified instructor.
Any class specific questions feel free to ask via text or call me, Captain Doug at 972-0920-6440.
