The Dallas Corinthian Yacht Club (DCYC) and the Dallas Corinthian Educational Fund (DCEF) offer an Adult Basic Sailing Course, for DCYC members and non-members conducted over two consecutive weekends depicted in the dates below. The course is comprehensive with almost all instruction on the water. Learn to sail if you have no experience and learn to race if you have knowledge of sailing but no experience in racing.
Basic Sailing for Adults: Our next class will be in Sept. 8, 9, 15 and 16 of 2012. It is a two weekend back-to-back, single course. Classes Start at 9:00am and end at about 3:30pm each of the 4 days of the class.
Adult Class: DCYC Members $100, Non-members $150 which includes course manual.
Classes limited to 20 students.
Swim 25 yards unassisted; jump into deep water and tread or float for 5 min.; put on life jacket in deep water and float for 3 min.

Once registered you will receive immediate and regular emails about the class that includes the curriculum, definitions of sailing terms and other useful information to prepare you for the course.
Please bring a Personal Flotation Device (PFD). Type I, II, III, or V personal flotation device (life jacket) that is U.S. Coast Guard–approved, wearable, and of the proper size for each person is required and a pair of "sailing" gloves, are recommended. There is a limited supply of PFDs available, if one is forgotten.
Payment for the Adult Sailing Class should be made by sending a check for $100, if you are a member of DCYC, or $150, if not. Payment by check, made out to Dallas Corinthian Educational Fund, should be mailed to the address below to lock in your registration.
